Class Action
Do You Have a Class Action Law Suit? What You Need to Know.
As consumers, we trust that when we purchase goods and services, the manufacturers will not jeopardize safety over profit. No matter what type of product, whether it’s a drug, device or food item, we should feel secure in the knowledge that it has been appropriately tested and that warning labels of any possible dangers will be clearly posted. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case.
What is a Class Action Suit?
A class action is when one person files the suit on behalf of a larger group that has been affected similarly by the same circumstances relating to a defective product, drug or food item. A class action allows people to work together to fight against unfair and illegal practices of big businesses and hold them accountable.
Have You Been Affected?
Mesothelioma
If you have had a mesothelioma diagnosis, there is no doubt you have a lot of questions concerning your health and your future. Asbestos-related illness is a preventable form of cancer, yet many of the companies that produce, use, and distribute asbestos products failed to caution employees of the health risks associated with using it, despite being very aware of the dangers themselves.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with mesothelioma, you should consider contacting an attorney immediately before the statute of limitations expires. The right attorney can help you to get the compensation you deserve.
Opioids
The opioid epidemic has touched neighborhoods across the US, affecting people of all ages, and is responsible for ruined lives and too many deaths. These dangerous painkillers have been over-prescribed at higher rates than ever before, and because they are highly addictive, it can be very difficult to quit. They also have side effects that can turn deadly in a moment.
If you or a loved one is trying to manage an opioid addiction related to taking a prescribed medication, contact us today. We know the problem lies in the over-prescribing of opioids as a quick fix and is the result of the negligent and irresponsible acts of those in the medical field. Let us help.
Surgical Mesh
Used by doctors to repair tissue damage from pelvic prolapse, hernia, and other weakened tissue, surgical mesh has gained popularity over the years because of its supposed ease of use. Mesh can be made of synthetics, such as polypropylene plastic, or of organic materials, such as cow and pig organs.
Despite the fact that the New England Journal Medicine (NEJM) released a study that it was uncertain whether surgical mesh was actually superior to suturing, the market has grown. But with more and more patients reporting long term problems of injuries, adverse reactions and infections, the actual benefits aren’t holding up.
If you are having health-related issues from surgical mesh, contact us so we can evaluate your case and get you the compensation you deserve.
GenX
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality confirmed that a group of toxins was released from a Fayetteville plant that has contaminated the water supply from the Cape Fear River. These toxic chemicals consist of GenX, and PFOA, which is one of the C8 chemical family, known to be extremely toxic to people, the environment and wildlife.
GenX, and other toxic chemicals, including PFOA and other perfluorinated chemicals, used by these companies, contaminated water that the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) supplies to the majority of properties in Wilmington, and other areas of Pender, Brunswick, and New Hanover Counties. Testing done by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality verified a group of toxins, including GenX, released from the Fayetteville plant have contaminated the water supply from the Cape Fear River.
Documents, memos, and other DuPont communications were evidence that the company was well aware of the dangers of these toxins, yet covered it up from employees, regulators and the public at large while C8 soaked into the water tables, contaminating our water.
If you or someone you know has been affected by GenX, contact us, we are here to help.
